Few fashion weeks in recent memory have been so dominated by a single show. While Pharrell Williams’ long-anticipated debut at Louis Vuitton was the big story of the past few weeks, there were plenty of other subplots and stories to capture the imagination. From London to Paris by way of Milan, designers presented their own vision of #quietluxury aesthetics, be it through utilitarian elements or avant-garde proportions. Maximalism, however, was not fully neglected: see Comme des Garçons’ two-footed derby shoes or JW Anderson’s untamed knitwear.
