Nose To Tail Chair for H&dM

Herzog & de Meuron is a Swiss architecture firm founded by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron in 1978. Creating objects in the same way it approaches designing buildings, the Nose to Tail chair places an emphasis on sustainability. The piece consists of two intersecting planes built from stained and lacquered birchwood. The seat and backrest are cut from the same sheet of wood as the chair's foundation, creating the two empty spaces that form the chair's legs. It measures 77.5cm H x 43cm W x 48.5cm D.
