When designer Horst Dassler created the adidas Superstar in 1969, he intended it as a hoops shoe, but by the 80s the silhouette had abandoned courtwear for streetwear, thanks to the popularity of its now-iconic rubber shell toe. The adidas Superstar Foundation J keeps the heritage going, in a white leather upper with the Three-Stripes in pink and a heel overlay with a trefoil logo. The midsole also follows the traditional line, in white rubber, along with the herringbone outsole.
