In 1971 tennis pro Stan Smith won the U.S. Open, and the adidas Stan Smith shoes were officially introduced in 1978. Designed by Horst Dassler, son of adidas founder Adi Dassler, the Stan Smith has become a classic low-top shoe. This version features a Core Black premium denim upper with perforated Three Stripes on the side while a white sole provides contrast.
