The Nike Air Max Plus was initially created by sneaker designer Sean McDowell, who used palm trees blowing in the wind on Florida beaches as his main inspiration for the shoe’s design. The rubber overlays on the mesh upper mimic this image while also reinforcing the midfoot. The all-black design is accented by neon on the tongue, heel, midsole and Swooshes.
