The first Nike model to present a full-length visible Air unit, and created in 1997 by Christian Tresser, the Air Max 97 is an iconic sneaker with a uniquely recognizable design inspired by ripples around a drop of water. The 'Persian Violet' version features synthetic leather and mesh, which come together on a black and white upper with reflective wave paneling and a Persian Violet interior. Swoosh branding is seen on the quarter panels, tongue and heel. Underfoot, a full-length Max Air unit offers lightweight cushioning.
