The AFEW x ASICS Gel Lyte 3 ‘Beauty of Imperfection’ draws inspiration from ‘wabi-sabi,’ a Japanese philosophy centered around an appreciation of transience and imperfection. The German retailer dresses the lifestyle runner in a light grey suede upper, accented with Seagrass tiger stripes designed to wear away over time. A soft purple hue lands on a split heel overlay built with a combination of textile and suede, and featuring a debossed ‘AFEW’ wordmark on the right shoe. Additionally, ‘wabi-sabi’ is spelled out in Japanese lettering on the back heel and cork sockliner.
