Designer Yohji Yamamoto and adidas teamed up to develop a black and white speckled Y-3 Raito Racer. ‘Raito’ means ‘Light’ in Japanese and remains the influence behind keeping the shoe lightweight. Released in July 2019, the adidas Y-3 Raito Racer ‘Black' is made from a one-piece knitted upper with a cage overlay that ties into the lacing system. A Y-3 logo can be seen on the shoe’s tongue. The Boost midsole blends into the Quickstrike outsole, helping to reduce weight and improve traction.
