Floral patterns, similar to the design of Phil’s mother’s couch, decorate the powder blue corduroy upper. Leather overlays in a dark tan finish reinforce the forefoot and heel, while red leather accents appear on the signature three-stripes and back tab. ‘Always be a good boy’ is inscribed across the back heel — a message that Phil’s grandmother included in her cards and letters — while the insole displays one of Grandma’s watercolor paintings. The sneaker rests on a gum rubber cupsole, featuring an exposed foam wedge on the medial side.
