A longtime Vans collaborator, Japanese artist Taka Hayashi creates a new take on the Vans' checkerboard motif for the Taka Hayashi x Sk8-Hi LX 'Checkerboard.' The high top upper takes on a premium suede, with larger black and white blocks than typically seen on the check graphic. The olive brown midsole is also a departure from the silhouette's more common white, with branding that marks the partnership between the artist and brand.
