Originally created for US athletes competing in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, this Air Max BW colorway had a general release in 2004 before this 2016 version dropped as part of Nike’s Rio Summer Olympics collection. The classic runner features a black base with Midnight Navy underlays, accented by a Crimson Swoosh and Air Max branding. The nubuck and mesh upper sits on a white midsole with a visible Air Max unit in gold. The patriotic colorway also includes an embroidered gold ‘USA’ on the tongue and a US flag—with a Swoosh instead of stars—on the heel.
