Taiwan-based Invincible helped ASICS celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Gel-Lyte 3 with this October 2015 release. Dubbed the Gel-Lyte 3 ‘Formosa,’ the retro runner showcases a hairy suede upper in varying shades of grey, accented with contrasting pops of navy and red on the heel tab. The ‘Formosa’ moniker carries dual significance: it was Taiwan’s name centuries ago and is also part of the scientific name for the crested goshawk, a bird species indigenous to tropical Asia.
