The Nike Air Force 1 was designed by Bruce Kilgore and released in 1982. The AF1 was the first example of Nike's Air-Sole cushioning applied for the hardwood. The Mid 'Drum Island' model sees the classic design updated in a crisp, monochromatic color scheme, with numerous perforations at the toe box and side panels. The shoe retains the ankle strap and Air-cushioned sole of the original model.
