The New Balance 550 ‘Varsity Orange’ applies a varsity-inspired palette to a retro silhouette designed by Steven Smith. Layered white leather is utilized on the upper, contrasted by orange textile on the padded low-cut collar. Matching citrus accents make their way to the breathable nylon tongue and the raised ‘N’ logo that adorns the quarter panel. Lightweight cushioning is provided by an EVA wedge, housed within a rubber cupsole that nods to the shoe’s vintage hardwood roots.
