The New Balance 550 ‘Mushroom’ discards the traditional leather build in favor of a hairy suede upper in a dark tan finish. Improved airflow is provided by tonal mesh construction throughout the toe box, collar and tongue. The latter is marked with a woven New Balance tag, while a raised ‘N’ logo in synthetic leather adorns the quarter panel. The low-top is mounted on a durable rubber cupsole, featuring stitched sidewall construction and an exposed foam wedge on the medial side.
