THE WOODS 
 
While the Fir and Electric Green gradients are likely the first things anyone will notice, the true narrative of ‘The Woods’ is found in its varied textures. 
 
UPPER 
 
Moving away from synthetic suede, the silhouette’s signature wavy overlays are constructed of real long-hair suede representing the unmanicured wilderness of the Cascades. Further, the shifting shades from Tomatillo at the top to Fir at the base mirror the transition from canopy to forest floor. On the back heel, a subtle moss texture provides the backdrop for a neon green mini Swoosh. 
 
LACING 
 
The four clear plastic aglets are inspired by raindrops and feature the words “Ducks of a Feather” spelled out across them. The laces integrate a reflective weave, a nod to the high-vis gear worn by trail runners and hikers in the Pacific Northwest’s low-light conditions. Both the lace cover and tongue continue the thoughtful execution with premium suede. 
 
BRANDING, BUBBLE + IMAGERY 
 
Both a Swoosh and “DOAF” hit land on the embroidered tongue tag, which features rough edges to keep up the forest theme. Underfoot, visible Air is given the Big Bubble treatment with transparent windows. The outsole spine continues the woodland concept with a printed graphic that takes inspiration from the Ducks’ basketball court. Inside, the sockliner is printed with an image of the forest floor.

LUMBER YARD 
 
The ‘Lumber Yard’ colorway shifts the narrative from the trees to the industry that helped build Oregon. 
 
UPPER 
 
Screens don’t do it justice. By far the easiest-to-miss detail is the embossed graining across each level of the wavy overlays. Rather than a flat color, the suede is heat-pressed to create a texture identical to saw-cut timber. Like its green counterpart, the color gradient stretches from Desert Sand at the top to Mink Brown at the base, representing the different types of trees found in Oregon’s vast woodlands. 
 
LACING 
 
The rope lacing of ‘Lumber Yard’ is inspired by the high-tensile ropes used in Pacific Northwest industries. The weave is dense and low-stretch, designed to maintain tension across the 95’s anatomical lace loops even in rough conditions. “Ducks of a Feather” is spelled out across the four wooden aglets, complementing the high-end materiality used for the lace cover and tongue. 
 
BRANDING, BUBBLE + IMAGERY 
 
Inside, the custom sockliner features an Oregon “O” presented as if it’s been burned against the woodgrain print. The Big Bubble treatment stretches from the back to the forefoot, with the Air windows under the heel tinted blue. The outsole spine makes use of the same printed graphic inspired by the design of the Ducks’ basketball court—this time around swapping the lime green Nike Air hit for an understated brown stamp.
