The breathable black textile upper rides on a Nike React midsole that replaces the Cushlon foam of the Pegasus 36, complete with a top-loaded Zoom Air unit in the forefoot. The familiar rubber outsole is unchanged from its predecessor and features waffle pistons for enhanced traction and an exceptionally smooth ride.
