Designed by Nike's Bruce Kilgore and first released in 1982, the Air Force 1 originated as a high-top basketball shoe, and was the first hardwood sneaker to use Nike Air technology. A low top version released in 2007—the sneaker's 25th anniversary—the Nike Air Force 1 '07 'Black' sees the famous leather upper completely in black, with a perforated toe box and midpanel Swoosh.
