Everything You Need to Know About the First-Ever Air Max 95/97
From the radical design language to the story behind each colorway, breaking down the details of the all-new silhouette.
Air Max stands as one of Nike’s most enduring creations. Introduced with 1979’s Air Tailwind and revolutionized by the Air Max 1 in 1987, the series symbolizes the Swoosh’s unmatched ability to blend performance, technology and style. For Air Max Day 2025, Division Street’s Ducks of a Feather presents the first-ever Air Max 95/97.
The silhouette debuts with three explosive PE colorways: ‘Storm,’ ‘Thunder’ and ‘Lightning.’ Combining the upper of the 97 with the sole of the 95, the fusion experiment is an unprecedented chapter in Sergio Lozano and Christian Tresser’s storied designs, retaining the dynamic precision of the originals, with hues that channel the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
The three-part release arrives with drops in select countries around the world. The schedule starts with ‘Thunder’ on March 21 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, before moving on to ‘Lightning’ on March 24 in Asia-Pacific and finishing with the global release of ‘Storm’ on March 26. All iterations drop exclusively on GOAT, while proceeds benefit participating University of Oregon student-athletes.
Below, a detailed look at the Air Max 95/97 and the story behind each colorway.
