Famous for its rubber shell toe, the 1969 adidas Superstar was the first all-leather, low-top basketball shoe. Worn by legends such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others, the Superstar is now recognized worldwide. In June 2015, adidas reconstructed the iconic shoe with Canvas, a departure from the more typical leather upper. While preserving the iconic Three-Stripes branding and overall shape of the first Superstar, the Canvas edition is lightweight and breathable for optimal court performance.
