Nike Cortez
Designed by Bill Bowerman in 1972, the Cortez was Nike’s first-ever track shoe, originally called the Aztec before being renamed after the Spanish conquistador, Hernán Cortés. Today, the silhouette remains an icon of minimalist style, pairing an austere upper with a cushy foam midsole and serrated outsole. Swoosh hits on the side panels round out the design.
