    In 1975, skateboarders Tony Alva and Stacey Peralta created the Vans 59, and its low profile, padded collar and no slip outsole soon made it a favorite lace-up. The Vans Era 59 builds on that heritage with the same silhouette in sturdy double-stitched canvas, metal lace eyelets and vulcanized rubber midsole. This version comes mainly in Pewter, with brown leather on the heel and tongue for a premium touch.
