The Nike Air Max 90 Exeter Edition ‘Neon’ features highlighter accents on a retro runner named after the location of the brand’s first US factory. Scouted by salesman Jeff Johnson — Nike’s ‘Employee No. 1’ — the Exeter, New Hampshire, facility used local vendors’ excess production waste to create sneakers with unique colors and materials. That patchwork aesthetic lives on in this pair, featuring a pink textile base with a grey suede overlay, neon green Swoosh and a black mudguard with contrast turquoise stitching. Lightweight cushioning is provided by a visible Max Air unit surrounded by a purple midsole wedge. Underfoot, the waffle-tread outsole incorporates Nike Grind.
