Facts
The imaginary Nike Mag self-lacing sneakers from 1989’s Back to the Future 2 became a reality nearly 30 years later when Nike released a super-limited edition of just 89 pairs in 2016. Original pairs were made available via an online raffle in which proceeds benefited Back to the Future actor Michael J Fox’s foundation for Parkinson’s disease. The sensor-equipped shoe automatically tightens and loosens to fit the unique shape of the wearer. Integrated glowing lights in the midsole, heel, and strap highlight the futuristic form.
