The Nike Air Force 1 was originally conceived as a performance basketball shoe when it was designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982. The AF1 was the first basketball shoe to incorporate the Swoosh brand's groundbreaking Air technology, which translated to a responsive feel on the hardwood and beyond.
