The Nike women’s Air Force 1 Fontanka ‘Pearl White University Red’ draws inspiration from the underground rave culture of St. Petersburg in post-Soviet Union Russia. The low-top sports a reconstructed look, highlighted by a cream-colored leather upper with offset stitching, doubled-up tongues, and a multi-layered, pieced-together eyestay. A similar aesthetic is applied to the synthetic suede Swoosh and heel tab, the latter accented with black zigzag stitching. The sneaker rides on a tonal midsole with a red ‘cassette tape’ of Nike React foam embedded in the heel.
