In October 2012, designer Takahiro Miyashita's The Soloist collaborated with adidas on a special edition of the Rod Laver. The classic silhouette is aligned with the Japanese menswear label's refined aesthetic in textured grey suede with metal eyelets and a top-stitched heel badge. Miyashita's signature codes come in the form of a serial number on the tongue and initialed insole. Its 'Light Bone' herringbone cupsole offsets the tonal look.
