On August 18, 2016, adidas released the NMD R1 Core Black Reflective’ sneaker — a black-on-black colorway of the NMD with one major addition: reflective laces created with 3M technology. These laces make the sneakers glow when light strikes them from the right angle. On the same day, adidas also released a complimentary all-white version of the shoe, the NMD R1 ‘White Reflective.’
