In 2016, the 20th anniversary of the inaugural Air Max 97, Nike released a number of inventive takes on the popular sneaker. This trend continued into 2017 with the Nike Air Max 97 ‘Mesh’ sneaker. The upper of this AM97 comes in a brand new combination of materials and textures—mesh, tumbled leather, and a scale pattern on the inner midfoot—in a reserved black colorway with hits of blue. The shoe maintains its traditional foam and Max Air unit cushioning.
