Molded after the OG 1998 version, the July 2019 Mizuno Wave Rider 23 SW takes on a more aerodynamic look and feel than previous models. Preserving some elements from the past, the running sneaker is constructed with an engineered mesh upper and adds a padded tongue to keep the top of the foot secure. An internal heel counter resists heel slip and works with a signature wave plate in the midsole sandwiched between layers of U4ic and U4icX foam to ease the transition of each stride.
