Instead of the skinny leather overlays that defined the original design, this contemporary version executes the wavy, bullet train-inspired look with rubberized strips over breathable mesh. The full-length Max Air cushioning unit is carried over from 1997, housed in a white foam midsole and promising a soft ride.
