Paris Texas: Diaries From the ‘Chromakopia’ World Tour
Catching up with the LA duo as they navigate mosh pits and questionable cuisines while on the road with Tyler, The Creator.
“Like a near-death experience” is how one fan recently described watching Paris Texas. The Los Angeles rap duo has been supporting Tyler, The Creator on his ‘Chromakopia’ world tour, igniting mosh pits everywhere they go. As grungy guitars tease their 2021 track “girls like drugs,” giant circles form in the crowd, which implode into a storm of thrashing limbs. The gates of hell, with a boom-bap beat.
Louie Pastel and Felix join a video call the morning after their show in Manchester, England, their voices still heavy with sleep. A week prior, we hung out with the pair on the streets of London, where they took in the grey skies, sampled the polarizing local cuisine and got up to general hijinks. The year’s already been chaotic, and with Tyler’s globetrotting tour scheduled to run until late September, the momentum’s only building.
Being asked to support Tyler was an honor—I always knew I was supposed to be on that stage.
